Quicker Car Rental Australia
Can anyone recommend a car hire Company who can hire me a car on 23 May 2009 for 1 week. We will be driving to Sunny Beach near Varna in Bulgaria. I have tried the obvious Companies on the internet but so far have 1 expensive offer.
Have you tried Auto Europe? They are generally pretty reasonable and give a few options for pick up, drop off etc.

I bought my car Hire Purchase. For insurance reasons (and because i don't use it) I want to sign the log book over to someone else. I will continue to pay the car. I cannot "sell" it because it's on HP.
Can i sign the log book over or not?
Nope, you can't sign the log book over until you OWN it, which you don't, because it's on hire purchase.

For people who are defending the McCanns, how do you explain why the sniffer dogs went berserk in the hire car. Apparantly, the dogs were reacting to the smell of death.
If i got it wrong, then tell me, but as far as i know thats what happened.

The dogs are trained to smell out corpses, and thats what they could smell in that car.
NO, you have got me wrong. We have been given reason to be suspicious with this smell of death in the car and the DNA that was found.
If they didnt have this forensic evidence, i would view them in a different light.
I am sure about my facta. I wouldnt make this up, i heard about this somewhere and it was also reported in the Daily Mail too.
Kate was even shown video footage of the dogs going mad in the car.
This footage was used as a prompt to get her to confess. It was shown again and again and she refused to confess to anything.
I read that too and they also reacted to the spot of blood found at the apartment, some of Kates clothes and her keys too again this was reported as being the smell of death.

I know there are the major companies in Bratislava but I wonder if it is possible to hire a vehicle in the Tatras area without too much problem. Is it really as expensive as it looks?
You can rent a car In Bratislava, Poprad, Kosice and other bigger towns. It's not so expensive and you can do it also using internet.
For your purpose it's better to rent it in Poprad, because it's in Tatras.

I'm planning a 3 month road trip in the states for around November this year. I have heard that some companies require people to transport cars across the states which would be perfect as it would save me a fortune in car hire costs! Does anyone know how I would go about doing this?
Find out if there is a ferry from where you are departing from. If not, take a ship. It will take a little while, but you'll have your car. Good luck!

If we for now assume the McCanns are innocent of murder/manslaughter, and if it is fact that Madeleine's blood is in the hire car, then WHO used the car before the McCanns? Yes, I know it would be a bizarre coincidence if they ended up with the same rental car as whoever took their daughter - but stranger things have happened.
Of course, another possibility is that the 'evidence' got confused or wrongly labelled and what the police think is a sample from the car, is actually from the apartment…
I agree with those who suggest that it's absurd to suppose the McCanns could have hidden a body for all this time, while under such intense scrutiny.
DAVE S - Oh, so suddenly you trust the police to do their job? Strange, because you sure as hell haven't up to now! And to critique my post, when you bombard this forum with remarks about this case, is hypocritical - and you know it.
CHIP 2001 - I just know that errors happen all the time with paperwork, samples etc; and this stuff has been transported from Portugal to UK, it's possible the samples got mislabelled or that some error was made. Terrible, but possible.
I asked the same question,(to myself)I find it impossible that the McCanns could have moved an inch without it being reported on the news.I feel the Portuguese Police are clutching at straws.

I already have 5 cars availiable to me which are owned by family members & are insured individually, I also have 3 cars of my own, are there any company that will insure all the cars together including my own to hire out? OR insurance just to hire my own cars? Thankyou

Can anyone tell me, is it worth it to leave our own car at the ferry terminal, then hire a car when we arrive in Arran, if so, how much is it, or is it just the same to pay to take our own car, how much to hire a car in Arran, I think it`s about £80 for a car with 2 passengers to go across for the day, any help most appreciated.
There is one road, all around the coast, and the "String Road" which goes over the centre from east to west. So it is rather silly to take a car. There are regular buses going around the island in both directions, and others doing the String Road, so travel is easy and cheap. There are great trails through the forests and up the mountains so hiking is almost compulsory.
In the north is the little village of Lochranza. From here you can take the ferry over to Argyll and a little bus into Tarbet.
From Tarbet you can take another little bus via Portovaddie
minor ferry to The Isle of Bute, which is in complete contrast to Arran with little fields, lanes, wild deer and 200 seals on Scalpsie beach. Take a look at some of the articles on:-
